What now?Disregarding America’s strong tradition of defending human rights, the President made bad policy bad law on October 17th when he signed the “Military Commissions Act of 2006.” The new law allows the administration to detain people without charge or without trial, and to withhold legal recourse for anyone labeled an enemy combatant. So what are we doing about it? We’re launching an intensive campaign to restore our traditional American values of justice, rule of law, and human dignity.
